In the event, which featured 11 riders, the 850cc prototype motorcycles that will become mandatory for the 2027 season, and Pirelli, the new sole tire supplier, were tested on such a large scale for the first time.<\/p>\n<h2>Two Yamaha representatives took part.<\/h2>\n<p>Yamaha participated in the Brno test with Turkish national rider Toprak Razgatl\u0131o\u011flu and factory test pilot Augusto Fernandez. For Toprak, who is completing his first season in MotoGP, this test held special significance; having spent a large part of his career, in which he won three World Superbike championships, on Pirelli tires, he knows his new tire supplier more intimately than his rivals. This experience is considered a significant advantage in Yamaha&#039;s 2027 project.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the vehicles used in the test were 850cc prototypes developed from scratch according to the 2027 regulations, while some manufacturers modified their existing 1000cc machines and sent them to the track. The most prominent elements in the images from Brno were the significantly reduced aerodynamic packages and Pirelli tires.<\/p>\n<h2>Other manufacturers and drivers<\/h2>\n<p>Marc Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer competed for Ducati, while Marco Bezzecchi and Raul Fernandez represented Aprilia. Honda was represented by Joan Mir and Luca Marini, and KTM fielded a trio: Pedro Acosta, along with experienced test riders Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espargaro. It was reported that the laps Marquez completed with the Ducati prototype attracted the most attention during the test.<\/p>\n<h2>Preparation for the ride-height ban and initial lap times.<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to lap times, manufacturers also conducted start trials with ride-height systems disabled, which will be banned from 2027 onwards. These devices, which have become a significant part of MotoGP starts in recent years, will require riders to revert to classic launch techniques once they are removed; this adaptation process was also studied in the test.<\/p>\n<p>Although official lap times weren&#039;t released, data noted by track observers suggests Marc Marquez completed a lap in approximately 1:54. For context, Ai Ogura secured pole position at the same track earlier in the weekend with a time of 1:51.139, while Fabio Di Giannantonio set the fastest race lap at 1:53.122. Considering the smaller engine size, restricted aerodynamics, and different tire combination, these times indicate that the development process for these prototypes is still in its early stages.<\/p>\n<h2>The 2027 regulations are similar to Toprak&#039;s driving style.<\/h2>\n<p>The changes to be implemented in MotoGP in the 2027 season are as follows: engine displacement will be reduced from 1000 cc to 850 cc, Pirelli will replace Michelin, and ride-height systems and large aerodynamic packages will be banned. These changes are expected to create a more favorable environment for Toprak Razgatl\u0131o\u011flu&#039;s riding style, which is characterized by braking ability and motorcycle balance, under the current rules.
