The opening practice session of the 2026 MotoGP Dutch Grand Prix in Assen took place under conditions of 28\u00b0C air temperature and 38\u00b0C track temperature. During the 45-minute session, Di Giannantonio led the way, followed by Pedro Acosta and Marc Marquez; however, Marco Bezzecchi ultimately secured first place with a time of 1:32.311. Toprak Razgatl\u0131o\u011flu, riding a Pramac Racing Yamaha, finished 21st with a time of 1:33.515, 1.204 seconds behind his closest competitor.<\/p>\n
Fabio Di Giannantonio set the benchmark time of 1:34.969 in the opening lap of practice, later improving it to 1:33.829. Pedro Acosta took the lead with 1:33.057, while Jorge Martin moved into second place. Marc Marquez, having completed his first lap, overtook the leader with a time of 1:32.757. Bezzecchi briefly held the lead with 1:32.589, but Di Giannantonio overtook him with 1:32.516 to take the temporary lead.<\/p>\n
During the middle of the session, most drivers went to their garages to work on setup and data. Bezzecchi returned and took the lead with a time of 1:32.476, followed by Jorge Martin with 1:32.455. Bezzecchi then slowed his time to 1:32.311 to regain the lead. As Marquez was about to respond strongly, he lost control at turn 16 and went into the gravel trap; yellow flags were shown, forcing Ai Ogura to cut short his fast lap, and Marquez returned to the garage.<\/p>\n
As the session neared its final ten minutes, drivers once again pitted to prepare for their final fast laps. Returning to the track in the last five minutes, the drivers improved their times: Ai Ogura moved up to 5th place with a time of 1:32.475, Joan Mir to 7th with 1:32.551, and Maverick Vi\u00f1ales to 9th with 1:32.667. After the checkered flag, Francesco Bagnaia completed his lap, clocking a time of 1:32.409 and overtaking Jorge Martin to take second place.<\/p>\n
In the final standings, Bezzecchi (Aprilia, 1:32.311) finished first, Bagnaia (Ducati, +0.098) second, and Martin (Aprilia, +0.144) third. Di Giannantonio (Ducati, +0.160) was fourth, Ogura (Aprilia, +0.164) fifth, and Raul Fernandez (Aprilia, +0.205) sixth. Despite his fall, Marquez maintained his tenth place with a time of 1:32.757. Toprak Razgatl\u0131o\u011flu finished 21st, completing 18 laps and trailing leader Bezzecchi by 1.204 seconds.
