The Spanish rider stated that he struggled in a battle with Brad Binder (KTM) at the Assen circuit, crossing the finish line 1.3 seconds behind his teammate Fabio Quartararo. However, Binder later received a penalty for tire pressure violation, and Rins moved up to ninth place in the final standings.

The binder couldn't be overcome, and the disappointment grew.

Rins commented on Binder's speed advantage with his KTM during the race: "Initially, while Marc or Pecco were taking turn 16, I was coming from turn 15, which made me quite happy. Then they increased their speed and left. Binder had more than me, but his bike was incredibly fast; I couldn't even attempt an overtake. Racing like that is a bit frustrating." Regarding when he will receive Yamaha updates, Rins couldn't give a clear answer: "They say before the end of the year, but I don't know when or to whom they will be given. I believe Yamaha is aware of the situation; hopefully, they can put a little more pressure on them.".

Pramac and Yamaha also performed as wildcards.

Jack Miller, 17 seconds behind Rins in Assen, finished 12th with Pramac Yamaha. Wildcard participant Augusto Fernandez, with a revised front wing test, finished 15th. Razgatlıoğlu was forced to retire from the race due to a chattering problem he experienced during the race.

Yamaha experiences rider shake-up: Martin and Ogura are coming.

Immediately following the Assen race, Yamaha announced its 2027 season lineup. Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura will replace Quartararo and Rins, respectively. This announcement also officially confirmed Rins' departure from Yamaha at the end of the season. Thus, Rins, who will compete in the second half of the 2026 MotoGP championship, will continue to compete with updates whose timing is uncertain.

Sources

Crash.net

Alex Rins, after finishing ninth at the Assen MotoGP race, said that Yamaha V4 updates would arrive before the end of the year; however, he admitted he didn't know the exact date or who would receive them.

[2
426,529,471,722,206,472,282,101,91,90,93
post-1448","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-motogp","tag-ai-ogura","tag-alex-rins","tag-assen","tag-brad-binder","tag-fabio-quartararo","tag-hollanda-gp","tag-jack-miller","tag-jorge-martin","tag-motogp","tag-toprak-razgatlioglu","tag-yamaha
["GET
