{"id":1548,"date":"2026-07-03T20:39:07","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T17:39:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/frenyok.com\/?p=1548"},"modified":"2026-07-03T20:39:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T17:39:07","slug":"sebastien-ogier-yunanistan-rallisine-ozel-lastik-istiyor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frenyok.com\/en\/sebastien-ogier-yunanistan-rallisine-ozel-lastik-istiyor\/","title":{"rendered":"S\u00e9bastien Ogier wants special tires for the Rally Greece."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">Tire supplier Hankook says it is considering developing a special tire for the Rally Greece following a race heavily affected by punctures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">For the Rally Greece, Hankook brought a redesigned, reinforced gravel tire following criticism of its previous specification after the Rally Portugal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">Both drivers and teams welcomed the updated tire as a clear improvement, particularly in reducing tread delamination. However, punctures remained a major problem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">Only S\u00e9bastien Ogier of Toyota and Josh McErlean of M-Sport Ford completed the rally without experiencing a tire puncture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">Ogier believes the next step should be developing a tire specifically for the Rally Greece.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-text-100 mt-2 -mb-1 text-base font-bold\">\u201c&quot;As in the past, specialized tires would be the real solution.&quot;\u201d<\/h2>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\u201cThe tires we used in Portugal wouldn\u2019t have been able to finish a single stage here, so it\u2019s clearly a step forward,\u201d said Ogier. <em>Motorsport.com<\/em>\u2018&#039;a. &quot;But we also saw that the real solution in these extreme conditions, as in the past, is a tire specifically designed for this location,&quot; he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">Hankook did not reject this offer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\u201cI think it\u2019s definitely worth considering. Of course, everything has consequences, and I\u2019m not just saying that from my own perspective. It\u2019s certainly something to be evaluated, and it\u2019s come up a few times. Since it\u2019s been mentioned by prominent figures, it\u2019s worth thinking about,\u201d said a Hankook representative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">According to the company, developing a specialized tire would be a huge project, but it remains possible if the idea has broad support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\u201cOf course, it means a lot of work, but that\u2019s what we do anyway. So, if we think it\u2019s important for the sport and there\u2019s broad support for it, it\u2019s something we can consider.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-text-100 mt-2 -mb-1 text-base font-bold\">Neuville: &quot;The problem is two-sided.&quot;\u201c<\/h2>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">Hyundai&#039;s Thierry Neuville suffered a major blow to his championship hopes in Greece after experiencing two tire punctures in the penultimate special stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">Neuville believes the problem cannot be solved simply by improving the tires.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\u201cI was asked whether the organizer should review the roads or the manufacturer should develop the tires; I think a little bit of both.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\u201cI\u2019ve driven with many different tires over the years and I know what\u2019s possible, what they can do. I think there\u2019s room for improvement on both sides. Maybe the roads should be a little smoother, and the tires a little more durable. They\u2019re going through a tough test here.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-text-100 mt-2 -mb-1 text-base font-bold\">M-Sport supports Hankook.<\/h2>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">M-Sport Ford team principal Richard Millener defended Hankook, pointing out that today&#039;s Rally1 cars place unprecedented loads on the tires.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\u201cThe only way you can look is to go to a Greek rally a few years ago where Pirelli was present and see how many blowouts they had, and how many we&#039;ve had here. I&#039;m almost certain the results won&#039;t be that different.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\u201cThe cars are faster than ever, the drivers are pushing harder than ever, and the temperatures are extremely high. As the cars evolve, the tires are subjected to even more stress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">Millener also emphasized that Hankook had successfully addressed one of its biggest concerns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\u201cIf you look at it, there wasn\u2019t any serious delamination over the weekend, which I think was a big concern. They were worried about it and they worked very hard to bring the new hard tire here to make things better; and they succeeded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">He believes the tire manufacturer also deserves credit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\u201cI keep saying it: all the equipment and all the information they give to the teams and the media is far superior to anything we\u2019ve ever had. We shouldn\u2019t wear them down too much.
