However, his first season in red was far from a smooth journey for the legendary driver. After winning two consecutive world championships with Benetton (1994-1995), Schumacher transferred to Ferrari in 1996 at the urging of Jean Todt.<\/p>\n<h3>A challenging start period.<\/h3>\n<p>The German driver and the Italian team were also embarking on a major restructuring process. The turbulent environment and technical difficulties that Ferrari was experiencing at the time made Schumacher&#039;s season, which had started strongly, challenging.
