However, after completing his record lap, Alonso crashed at the first corner, losing the chance to improve his time for the rest of the session; but his time was more than enough for pole position. A similar situation befell his teammate Daniel Holgado; the Spanish driver went off track after setting his fastest lap, but still secured third place.<\/p>\n
Second place went to Czech home driver Filip Salac. The American Racing driver finished just 0.205 seconds behind leader Alonso.
