After seven races, Williams is currently in eighth place, ahead only of Audi, Cadillac, and Aston Martin, failing to achieve the breakthrough they aimed for at the start of the season.<\/p>\n<h2>High speed is Williams&#039; open wound.<\/h2>\n<p>Albon emphasized that the second and third sectors of the Red Bull Ring consist entirely of high-speed corners, highlighting that this could reveal the team&#039;s biggest problem. &quot;When we compare our high-speed performance to our rival midfield teams, we lag far behind,&quot; said Albon, recalling that Carlos Sainz was a second and a half behind Liam Lawson in Barcelona and adding, &quot;We have a lot of work to do.&quot; However, Albon also added that Austria could go &quot;better&quot; than the previous race.<\/p>\n<h2>Mechanical problems and uncertain vehicle behavior.<\/h2>\n<p>Albon explained that after qualifying in Barcelona, they identified a mechanical fault in the car, but due to parc ferm\u00e9 rules, they were unable to make the necessary correction. &quot;We did everything we could to get the car closer to where it should be, but we couldn&#039;t completely fix it,&quot; said Albon, describing how the problem affected him during qualifying: &quot;From left to right, from corner to corner, I couldn&#039;t tell what the car was going to do.&quot; Albon stated that understanding the source of the problem at least provided some reassurance, and emphasized that they did not want to go to Austria with this issue.<\/p>\n<p>Albon&#039;s best individual result of the 2026 season was eighth place in Monaco, which also marked Williams&#039; best performance of the season. His teammate Sainz achieved a ninth place each in China, Miami, and Canada; however, both drivers only managed to finish in the points zone twice each season.
