58 cars have confirmed their registration for the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece, which will take place between June 25-28. This classic, the 8th round of the season, features 17 special stages centered in Loutraki and a competitive distance of 323.31 km, making it one of the toughest gravel races on the WRC calendar.
Strong team, Toyota-dominated.
Toyota Gazoo Racing will field five GR Yaris Rally1 cars: Elfyn Evans–Scott Martin, Takamoto Katsuta–Aaron Johnston, Oliver Solberg–Elliott Edmondson, Sami Pajari–Marko Salminen, and Sébastien Ogier–Vincent Landais. Hyundai Shell Mobis will compete with a trio of Adrien Fourmaux, Thierry Neuville, and Daniel Sordo.
Championship table
Elfyn Evans maintains his championship lead following his victory at Rally Japan. Ogier scored points with his win in the Canaries; Solberg, however, was forced to retire early after crashing in Japan.
The Traps of the Acropolis
It's no coincidence that Greece's rocky, rugged terrain is called a "car killer." Sharp gravel pieces quickly melt tires; large stones along the sides of the roads can mean the end of a race if you're not careful for a moment. High temperatures put extra strain on mechanical components.
