Current Southern 100 solo champion Davey Todd has confirmed on social media that he will not be competing in this year's Billown races, which begin on Monday evening, July 7th. The 30-year-old British rider also missed the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT due to an accident he suffered at the Daytona 200 in March.

Todd's own statement

8TEN Racing driver Todd said in a short post on Monday, accompanied by a video clip from last year's race: “I’m very sad that I won’t be starting there this year. I’m working hard to get back into racing as soon as possible, but we’re not quite ready yet.” Todd thus revealed that his treatment process for the accident in Daytona is still ongoing.

Names of participants in the race

Todd's teammate, Peter Hickman, announced earlier this month that he will be competing in the Southern 100 for the first time. Alongside Hickman, Michael Dunlop, Conor Cummins, Dean Harrison, Nathan Harrison, Dominic Herbertson, and Mikey Evans from the current TT lineup will also be competing at the Billown circuit. Four-time Isle of Man TT winner Peter Hickman's first race at Billown will start with the traditional Monday evening schedule.
