Manx rider Jamie Cringle, 28, who crashed at the Union Mills Post Office corner during the second Supersport stage of the Isle of Man TT race on June 5, has been transferred back to Walton Hospital in Merseyside due to a back infection.
Cringle underwent surgery at Aintree Hospital for serious injuries to his back and leg following the accident; he was brought back to the Isle of Man on June 20 to continue his recovery on the island. Noble's Hospital discharged him on Friday; however, less than 24 hours later, on Saturday evening, the driver had to return to the same hospital after an infection and a wound compromising skin integrity were discovered on his back. He was transferred to Walton on Monday.

A summary of the situation from Cringle's own pen.
The driver summarized the events in a statement he shared on social media on Tuesday: “I managed to be discharged from Noble's on Friday evening; however, this only lasted a little over 24 hours. I returned to Noble's from Saturday evening until Monday when we discovered that my back had become infected and had a hole in it. Unfortunately, I had to be transferred back to Walton yesterday.”
Cringle stated that he didn't yet have clear information about his treatment plan, saying, "I may need to stay here for a long time, or just a few days." Regarding his overall recovery, he added, "My body is getting stronger, some things are getting easier; I only have difficulty breathing when sitting in the chair.".
£47,000 in support for an independent plumber.
An online crowdfunding campaign launched for Cringle, a freelance plumber, has raised over £47,000 so far. The driver expressed his gratitude to the donors, saying, “It means a lot to me, and I will continue to inform everyone as I learn more.” The campaign can be accessed via gofund.me/a4ff5a85f.
