One of the key tests for the 850cc motorcycles that will be used under the new technical regulations coming into effect with the 2027 MotoGP season will take place in Brno. Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, one of the riders who will be trying out Yamaha's new motorcycle, shared a noteworthy detail about the test program.
Speaking after completing the MotoGP race in Brno, Razgatlıoğlu said that a very busy testing schedule awaits him on Monday.
“"I'll be doing a lot of laps, and we'll also be doing sprint simulations."”
Toprak explained that Yamaha's test plan includes sprint race simulations in addition to long-distance riding.
“I’ll be very busy tomorrow. I looked at the schedule, I’ll be doing a lot of laps and we’ll also be doing a sprint race simulation,” said Razgatlıoğlu, adding that this decision was a little surprising for him.
The Turkish driver also pointed out that he would be entering such a busy schedule immediately after the race: “I was very tired today because I pushed the limits in the last 10 laps. But we will still be ready for testing.”
The future of the MotoGP project is entrusted to Toprak's feedback.
In the new era beginning in 2027, MotoGP motorcycles will switch to 850cc engine capacities, and Pirelli tires will also begin to be used. The Brno test will be one of the first major opportunities for current MotoGP riders to try out the new generation machines.
Toprak Razgatlıoğlu and test rider Augusto Fernández will be working for Yamaha. The Turkish rider is expected to be an important reference point in the new Yamaha project.
A new era begins for Toprak.
After his success in the World Superbike Championship, Razgatlıoğlu, who moved up to MotoGP, has become one of the central figures in Yamaha's preparations for the new era ahead of the 2027 rules.
The 850cc test in Brno will be a critical milestone for Toprak's future in MotoGP and for Yamaha's next-generation racing machine.
