The Isle of Man TT in 2026 has become a focal point not only for motorsport but also for Hollywood. American actor Channing Tatum was spotted with his film crew near the Grandstand in Douglas on Monday morning, the first day of TT week. Wearing a full leather suit and helmet, Tatum posed on a BMW, filming the first scenes of a movie on the island.
About the project
“The film, titled ”Isle of Man,“ is being produced by Tatum and Brad Pitt for Amazon MGM Studios. Reid Carolin, who previously worked with Tatum on ”Dog“ and ”Magic Mike,” is directing. In addition to Tatum, the cast includes Eve Hewson (daughter of U2 frontman Bono), Ciarán Hinds, May Calamawy, and Ruaridh Mollica.
The screenplay was written by Carolin Keller, Jason Keller, and Bryan Johnson. Keller is also known for “Ford v Ferrari” and the Apple TV+ series ’Stick.“ Filming is being carried out in coordination with Manx Radio; extensive safety protocols have been implemented for the production process.
McGuinness praises Tatum.
John McGuinness, a 30-year veteran of TT, expressed great satisfaction with the communication they had established with Tatum: “He really loves engines and is showing a genuine interest in this project. It’s a big production — I hope it will be a success.”
Why is it important?
This film presents a critical opportunity to promote TT (Tournamental Racing) globally. Just as Brad Pitt's F1 film brought new audiences to Formula 1, "Isle of Man" could introduce the world's most dangerous and prestigious road race to millions of new viewers.
