The NASCAR Cup Series is leaving its California circuit racing series behind and coming to the Midwest this Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway. The race, named eero 400, will mark the Cup's first visit to the 1.5-mile track since 2019.
When is the race?
The eero 400 will begin on Sunday at 6:00 PM US time (22:00 GMT / 01:00 AM Monday Turkish time) and will be broadcast on TNT Sports. Stages 80, 165, and 267 will be completed. Practice and qualifying sessions will be spread over Friday and Saturday.
The second leg of the In-Season Challenge
The Chicagoland race will be the second round of the In-Season Challenge, a qualifying tournament for the season. Alex Bowman, the 2019 Chicagoland winner who eliminated top seed Tyler Reddick in the first round, will face Austin Cindric in the second round. Other highlights of the weekend include Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports against William Byron, and Ty Gibbs of Joe Gibbs Racing against Chase Briscoe.
Young names and a full grid
Corey Heim, who secured his first ever Cup victory at Naval Base Coronado last week, will be back on track with 23XI Racing's #67 Toyota. With Josh Bilicki and JJ Yeley also participating, a total of 39 cars will be on the grid this weekend.
